Two Dead, 15 Injured in Nigerian Army Recruitment Crash

An unfortunate accident occurred early on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to 15 others, including a soldier and 13 candidates. The incident involved a bus conveying candidates for the Nigerian Army's 91 Regular Recruit Intake at Obinze Barrack, Owerri.

The crash happened around 5:30 AM, approximately two kilometers from the barrack, when the bus collided with a tipper truck. Lt.

Col. Olabisi Ayeni, Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, confirmed the incident, stating that the injured were immediately evacuated to the Federal Medical Centre Owerri and Brigade Medical Centre for treatment.
