ISWAP Attack in Borno Kills Two Soldiers, Injures Officer

On Wednesday night, an attack by suspected fighters from the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) targeted a military base belonging to the 109 Special Forces Battalion in Magumeri Local Government Area, Borno State. The assault resulted in the deaths of two soldiers and injuries to a commanding officer.

Security sources indicated that the soldiers engaged in a fierce battle against the ISWAP forces, which led to the retreat of the attackers. The incident marks the first time ISWAP terrorists have targeted a military position in Magumeri.

Malik Samuel, a security analyst, reported that four members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) were also killed during the attack. The Nigerian Army has not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
