Two Soldiers Killed in ISWAP Attack in Borno State

On Thursday, during an attempted infiltration by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) at a military base in Magumeri, Borno State, two soldiers were killed. The Nigerian Army troops, part of the Joint Task Force North East, responded swiftly to the attack, which occurred under poor visibility conditions.

Despite a minor breach in an isolated section of the camp, the troops managed to defeat the attackers, killing several ISWAP militants. During the encounter, some personnel sustained injuries but were reported to be in stable condition and receiving medical attention.

Additionally, temporary structures were destroyed by fire during the intense battle. The Nigerian Army is currently assessing the full extent of the damage incurred during the encounter.
