Senegal Challenges CAF Decision at Court of Arbitration

The Senegal Football Authority has dismissed the recent ruling by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) concerning the abandonment of a match, declaring it unfair and unprecedented. Senegal plans to escalate the matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which is the highest authority for global sports disputes.

The Senegalese officials have expressed concerns that the CAF's decision undermines the integrity of football administration in Africa. They argue that the match should have resumed within the regular time, as reports indicate that the stoppage occurred less than 15 minutes before the typical threshold for declaring a match abandoned.

Additionally, the Senegal Football Authority has noted that they will exhaust all internal appeal options within CAF before proceeding to international arbitration, as they believe CAF's handling of the incident and its interpretation of events are questionable.
