Senegal Appeals CAF's Forfeiture Decision for AFCON Final

Senegal's football authority has dismissed the Confederation of African Football (CAF)'s ruling that declared Senegal forfeited the 2025 AFCON final match against Morocco, resulting in a 3-0 victory for Morocco. Senegal plans to escalate the matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), arguing that the match should have resumed within the regular time after a stoppage that occurred less than 15 minutes before the end.

The CAF's appeal committee determined that Senegal abandoned the match, but Senegal insists that the game was not properly concluded according to the regulations. Justice Harriman leads a nine-person board from several African countries that will review the case.

The situation raises questions about the integrity of football administration in Africa and whether Senegal will successfully challenge the CAF's decision.
