Nigeria Triumphs Over Senegal 3-1 in Volleyball Match

On Monday, Nigeria achieved a 3-1 victory over Senegal in the classification game for the 9-15 position at the 2026 African Volleyball Championship held in Nairobi, Kenya. Nigeria started strong, winning the first set 25-17, but Senegal leveled the match by winning the second set 26-24.

Nigeria rebounded decisively, dominating the third set 25-12 and clinching the match with a 25-20 win in the fourth set. The match statistics showcased Nigeria's superiority, with 10 aces compared to Senegal's one, 12 blocks against five, and 44 kills versus 36, alongside benefiting from 34 errors made by Senegal.

Nigeria's coach, Elishama Elam, described the victory as a significant boost for the team's confidence, emphasizing the importance of continuous improvement. He acknowledged Senegal's progress and experience gained throughout the competition.

Elam also expressed gratitude for the warm reception from Kenyan supporters, highlighting the positive atmosphere during the championship.
