Nigeria Tops Ghana 3-2 in Volleyball Championship Match

Nigeria's women's volleyball team triumphed over Ghana with a score of 3-2 (25-21, 21-25, 25-11, 11-25, 18-16) in their second Group C match at the 2026 African Senior Women’s Nations Volleyball Championship held in Kenya. Nigeria began the match strongly, winning the first set 25-21, but Ghana responded by taking the second set 25-21.

Nigeria regained momentum in the third set, dominating with a 25-11 win, putting them one set away from victory. However, Ghana fought back, winning the fourth set 25-11, which led to a decisive fifth set.

In a tense final set, Nigeria managed to secure the win with an 18-16 score. Following the match, Nigeria's head coach, Elishama Elam, praised the team's fighting spirit and emphasized the importance of the victory for their progression in the tournament.

Nigeria is set to face Cameroon in their final group stage match on Thursday, August 27.
