2026 AMVCA Nominees Announcement Set for March 29

The 2026 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) will announce its nominees on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at 7:00 PM WAT, with the event broadcast live on the Africa Magic channel. Nollywood actor Chimezi Imo has been confirmed as the host for the nominees announcement program.

The announcement was made on Monday via the award's official social media platform. The submission period for entries is set from January 11 to February 15, 2026, with eligibility for films and television content publicly screened or broadcast between January 1 and December 31, 2025.

The 12th edition of the AMVCA will feature 32 award categories, including 18 decided by a jury and 11 audience-voted categories, along with a special honor for Lifetime Achievement and a Trailblazer Award. New categories introduced include Best Indigenous Language North Africa and Best Indigenous Language Central Africa, promoting cultural diversity across the continent.

The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Lagos in May 2026.
