Rivers United NPFL Performance Issues

Kennedy Boboye, head coach of Bendel Insurance, expressed concern over his team's defensive issues after conceding 14 goals in 10 matches of the 2026/2027 NPFL season. Despite a recent victory against Rivers United, he emphasized the need for improvement.

Finidi George, technical adviser of Rivers United, attributed his team's 2-1 defeat to Bendel Insurance to poor defending and a lapse in concentration. The loss ended Rivers United's unbeaten start in the Nigeria Premier Football League.

Rivers United lost 2-1 to Bendel Insurance on October 25, while Ikorodu City and Shooting Stars drew 2-2. Other matches included Nasarawa United's 1-0 win over Enyimba and several other draws and narrow victories in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
