WAEC Assures Candidates on 2026 CB-WASSCE Results Integrity

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has addressed concerns regarding the 2026 CB-WASSCE results, assuring candidates that recent challenges, including delays in the delivery of question papers and answer booklets, will not impact the integrity of the results. Dr. Amo Josiah Dangut, head of WAEC's national office, confirmed that despite operational difficulties caused by security issues and the death of a staff member affecting three states, the examination body remains committed to maintaining high standards.

WAEC plans to release the results on August 3 and has warned candidates about potential delays due to outstanding payments from stakeholders. Comrade Oladimeji Usman, the General Secretary of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NAN), expressed confidence that any glitches encountered would not affect candidates' performance.

WAEC is also implementing technological reforms to reduce examination malpractice and enhance monitoring systems, with a significant reduction in malpractice incidents reported this year.
