Kida Urges Team Nigeria to Excel at 2026 Commonwealth Games

Engr. Musa Kida, the President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) and Chairman of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), has called on Team Nigeria to deliver exceptional performances at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, commencing on Thursday in Glasgow, Scotland.

He emphasized that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has shown a strong commitment to sports development through increased support for athletes and sporting federations. Kida encouraged the athletes to remain focused and disciplined, highlighting the unique opportunity they have to reward the government's investment with podium finishes.

He noted that Team Nigeria will compete in 10 events, including athletics, boxing, judo, swimming, and basketball. Kida expressed confidence in the athletes' talent and preparation, urging them to view the Games as a platform to showcase Nigeria's resilience and hard work.

He stated that every medal won would not only honor the country but also inspire young Nigerians aspiring to careers in sports.
