Tinubu Urges Team Nigeria to Compete with Integrity

During a presidential send-off ceremony in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu charged Team Nigeria to compete with courage, integrity, and patriotism at the upcoming 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. Tinubu emphasized the need for discipline and unity, urging athletes to uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship and integrity throughout the competition. He highlighted the importance of winning clean and ensuring that every medal earned reflects commitment and dedication.

The president also reiterated his administration's commitment to strengthening sports development and investing in athletes, noting the enactment of the Nigerian Anti-Doping Act to enhance compliance and protect athletes. The National Sports Commission, led by Malam Shehu Dikko, expressed gratitude for the presidential support, emphasizing the government's focus on youth development through sports.
