DTF Launches Platform for Tourism Entrepreneurs in Nigeria

The Domestic Tourism Festival (DTF), organized by Jands Travel Business School (JTBS), took place on September 4 at the Virginia Conference Centre, Independence Layout, Enugu. The festival aimed to provide emerging tourism and technology entrepreneurs with practical industry knowledge and opportunities to pitch innovative ideas.

Chioma Obi, the founder of JTBS, stated that the festival complements tourism training by offering young people chances to build careers and businesses in the sector. Participants engaged in masterclasses and pitched their ideas to industry professionals, fostering potential partnerships.

Obi emphasized the need to increase domestic travel in Nigeria, highlighting the country's diverse attractions. She noted that enhancing domestic tourism would create economic opportunities across the tourism value chain, benefiting various stakeholders.

The festival also focused on collaboration among different components of the tourism sector and aimed to empower young people beyond traditional roles in the industry.
