APC's Danjuma Shekwolo Wins Kuje Chairmanship Election

In the Kuje area council chairmanship election held on February 21, 2026, Danjuma Samuel Shekwolo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged victorious, receiving a total of 17,269 votes. His closest competitor, Danlami Zakoyi from the People's Democratic Party (PDP), garnered 15,824 votes, while the Progress Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate trailed with 4,035 votes.

The results were announced by Professor Nkiruka Odoh, who confirmed that Shekwolo met all legal requirements to be declared the winner. The announcement came less than 24 hours after the conclusion of the voting process.

The election was part of a broader electoral event across six area councils in the Federal Capital Territory, where the APC also secured victories in Kwali, Abaji, Bwari, and AMAC, while the PDP won in Gwagwalada.
