Stakeholders Urge Awareness at 2026 GTCo Autism Conference

At a media briefing in Lagos, stakeholders from various sectors, including health and education, called for heightened awareness and sensitization regarding autism disorder. International Behaviour Analyst Solape Azazi stressed the importance of addressing misconceptions about autism to reduce stigma.

Dr. Eziafakaku Nwokolo, a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst, highlighted the media's role in educating the public about autism.

Oyinade Adegite, Chief Communication Officer of GTCo, announced that the 2026 Autism Conference, themed “Acceptance in Action,” will be the 16th edition and aims to provide developmental support and learning opportunities for individuals on the autism spectrum and their families. The conference is scheduled for July 27 to August 1 in Lagos and from August 4 to 8 in Ghana, featuring expert-led discussions, workshops, and free consultations.

Mr. Segun Agbaje, Group Chief Executive Officer of GTCo, described the program as evidence of sustained commitment to autism advocacy.
