VP Shettima Orders New Hajj Fares for 2026 Pilgrimage in Nigeria

In a meeting at the Presidential Villa, Vice President Shettima directed the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to set new, realistic fares for the 2026 Hajj within 48 hours. This directive aims to ensure prompt remittance to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for smooth operations.

Senator Ibrahim Hadeija highlighted the government's focus on economic reforms to reduce pilgrimage costs. The meeting emphasized synergy between national and state hajj commissions to benefit pilgrims.

The goal is to strengthen the Hajj process and reflect these benefits in the fees paid by prospective pilgrims.
