NAHCON Concerned Over Delayed 2026 Hajj Fares Payment and Accommodation Issues

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) expressed concerns over the delayed payment of 2026 Hajj fares, citing challenges in securing accommodations for pilgrims in Mecca and Madina. Chairman Abdullahi highlighted the impact of late payments on pilgrimage arrangements and sought support from Governor Dikko Radda.

NAHCON also addressed the economic challenges, including Forex fluctuations, and the interventions made to ease the financial burden on pilgrims. The commission acknowledged the approval of intervention funds by President Bola Tinubu to support the successful organization of the 2024 Hajj.

Additionally, NAHCON mentioned negotiations with Hajj carriers to accept local currency, shielding pilgrims from Forex shocks.
