President Tinubu Orders Immediate Review of 2026 Hajj Fares for Nigerian Muslims

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to review the 2026 Hajj fares within two days to make the pilgrimage more affordable for Nigerian Muslims. Vice President Kashim Shettima conveyed the directive during a meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, emphasizing the need for collaboration with state officials to harmonize and adopt affordable fare rates.

The aim of the review is to ensure that the pilgrimage remains accessible amid economic reforms and a strengthened naira. Last year, pilgrims paid higher fares due to a weak exchange rate, prompting the need for a new, improved rate to benefit the pilgrims.
