Katsina State Approves ₦3.8 Billion Loan for Hajj Pilgrims

Governor Radda of Katsina State announced the approval of a ₦3.8 billion loan to facilitate the securing of 3,890 slots for pilgrims intending to participate in the 2026 Hajj in Saudi Arabia. This intervention became necessary due to financial difficulties faced by the state in meeting its allocated Hajj slots from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.

The governor explained that the loan would enable the state to fill its allocated slots for the pilgrimage. Additionally, Radda urged pilgrims to conduct themselves as worthy ambassadors of Katsina State and Nigeria, reminding families of the sacrifices made to enable their loved ones to perform this spiritual exercise.

He cautioned against the spread of misinformation during the pilgrimage and emphasized the importance of community responsibility to avoid confusion. The state government has also taken steps to improve accommodation and feeding arrangements for pilgrims during the Hajj, ensuring their welfare and safety throughout the exercise.
