Katsina State Airlifts First Batch of Pilgrims for Hajj

Katsina State commenced its 2026 Hajj operations by airlifting the first batch of 411 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia. The flight departed from Umar Musa Yar'Adua International Airport at 2:52 PM.

During the farewell ceremony, Deputy Governor Malam Faruq Lawal represented Governor Dikko Umaru Radda and encouraged the intending pilgrims to act as good ambassadors for the state throughout their pilgrimage. He emphasized the importance of maintaining spiritual focus during the Hajj and urged the pilgrims to pray for peace and security in their communities, particularly in light of the ongoing insecurity affecting the state.

This airlift marks the beginning of the Hajj operations for intending pilgrims from Katsina State.
