Enugu State Accelerates Preparations for 2026 NSF

The Enugu State government is intensifying preparations for the 23rd National Sports Festival (NSF) scheduled for 2026. Governor Peter Mbah has directed immediate action on critical infrastructure following a strategic visit by the Main Organising Committee (MOC) Advisory Team to the Enugu State Government House.

This visit was the second in a week, with the first focusing on inspecting facilities designated for the Games. Despite the confidence expressed by NSC Director General and MOC Chairman Bukola Olopade, stakeholders have raised concerns about the status of key projects, including the swimming pool, access road to the Games Village, and renovations at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.

In response, Mbah has issued directives to accelerate preparations, including the formation of a monitoring team for daily updates and the activation of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) Secretariat. He has assured that all infrastructure will be completed before the Festival and has initiated media campaigns to generate excitement for the event.
