JAMB Successfully Conducts 2026 UTME for 2.2 Million Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) commenced the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Thursday, accommodating 2.2 million candidates across 966 computer-based test (CBT) centres nationwide. The examination was reported to be well-organized, with candidates undergoing biometric verification before the test.

Stephen Sond, a supervisor at a CBT centre, confirmed that the process followed proper procedures, and there were no network failures during the sessions. Candidates, including Emmanuel Anayoha and Gudmerc Kiddi, expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the exam, noting that it started slightly behind schedule due to late arrivals but proceeded without technical issues.

JAMB implemented multiple security measures to safeguard the integrity of the examination, and no cases of malpractice were reported. The first session of the exam commenced with 235 candidates participating, and JAMB had conducted several pre-examination tests to ensure a seamless experience.
