JAMB Mock Exam Glitch Causes Nationwide Disruption

On Saturday, a significant technical glitch affected the 2026 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) mock exam across Nigeria, preventing candidates from participating in the test. Many candidates arrived at computer-based test centers as early as 6 AM but were unable to sit for the exam by 1:30 PM, leading to widespread frustration among parents and guardians.

Mr. Shile Giwa, a guardian, reported that candidates were asked to leave after waiting for an hour, with some managing to answer only four questions before the system crashed.

JAMB had previously warned candidates that failure to attend the mock exam could result in sanctions. The incident drew criticism from parents, including Mr.

Shola Oluwadar, who incurred additional expenses traveling with his son to the exam. Others, like Mr.

Kareem Kasali, described the situation as embarrassing. While some criticized the repeated administrative failures, Mr.

Babatola Adeyemi called for restraint from critics. As of the report, JAMB had not issued an official statement regarding rescheduling the affected mock exams.
