WAFU-B to Host Women’s Football Workshop in Abuja 2026

The West African Football Union B (WAFU-B) is set to host a three-day workshop for women’s football administrators in Abuja, Nigeria, from April 26 to 28, 2026. The workshop, organized in collaboration with the Confederation of African Football (CAF), will take place at the Seren Hotel Suite.

It will welcome chairpersons and heads of women's football departments from seven WAFU-B countries: Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Niger Republic, Togo, and Benin Republic. Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, the President of the Nigeria Football Federation and WAFU-B, is expected to declare the workshop open.

Key participants include WAFU-B Executive Director Philipp Tchere, CAF’s Head of Women’s Football Goshim Meskerem, and WAFU-B Women’s Football Commission President Amina Amani. The workshop aims to discuss the growth and evolution of women's football in Africa, with presentations on strategic planning and development frameworks.

Notable facilitators include Preciou Dede, Jule McGeever, and Thuba Sibanda.
