Team Nigeria Prepares for 2026 World Athletics U-20 Champs

Team Nigeria will participate in the 2026 World Athletics U-20 Championships in Oregon, United States, scheduled for August 5-9. The team includes notable athletes such as Miracle Ezechukwu, who recently competed in the women’s 100m semifinal at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, and shot put silver medallist Jessica Oji.

Ezechukwu will compete in the women’s 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay, while Oji will participate in the shot put and discus throw. The contingent also features athletes in various events, including Rosemary Nwankwo and Lucy Nwankwo in the 100m, and Gift Bright and Tejiri Godwin in the men’s 100m.

The National Sports Commission expressed confidence that the athletes will be inspired by their performances at the Commonwealth Games, as they aim to establish themselves on the international athletics scene.
