Nigeria Pursues 2030 World Athletics U20 Championships Bid

Bukola Olopade, the Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), and officials from World Athletics in Budapest, Hungary. This engagement occurred during the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championships and centered on Nigeria's commitment to hosting the global junior athletics event.

Olopade assured World Athletics of Nigeria's readiness to provide the necessary facilities, organizational standards, and hospitality for a successful championship. He referenced the Abeokuta championships as a significant example of Nigeria's capabilities in hosting international events.
