Ndidi Denies Comments on FIFA Congo Dispute

Wilfred Ndidi, the captain of Nigeria's national football team, the Super Eagles, has refuted claims that he made comments concerning FIFA's handling of a dispute involving Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo related to the potential qualification for the 2026 World Cup intercontinental playoff. Earlier reports suggested that Ndidi sought clarification from FIFA regarding the situation, which involved the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) contesting the qualification of certain players representing the Democratic Republic of Congo during the African playoff stage.

Ndidi expressed surprise at the statement made by Ayo Olu Ibadapo during a discussion on the Aysuga YouTube channel, firmly denying that he had made any comments related to the case. He clarified that he had not spoken to anyone about the matter, amidst increasing speculation regarding Nigeria's aspirations to secure a position in the intercontinental playoff for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
