Nigeria's Dikko Confident in World Cup Case Against DR Congo

Shehu Dikko, the chairman of the Nigeria Sports Commission (NSC), has stated that Nigeria is likely to win its case against DR Congo concerning player eligibility for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Dikko mentioned that FIFA is expected to release a final verdict soon regarding Nigeria's complaint, which was submitted by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The NFF's protest claims that DR Congo used an ineligible player during the African playoff finals. Despite DR Congo being listed among six teams competing for the final two spots in the intercontinental playoff, Dikko believes this does not indicate that FIFA has made a final decision on Nigeria's complaint.

He urged Nigerians to remain calm while awaiting FIFA's verdict, emphasizing that the situation is being closely monitored.
