Leke Abejide Exits ADC, Citing Leadership Crisis Ahead of 2027

On Friday, Leke Abejide, a member representing Yagba Federal Constituency, formally announced his exit from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), attributing his decision to internal crises and the alleged hijacking of the party's structure. He expressed that the ongoing legal battles threaten his political future as the 2027 general elections approach.

Abejide disclosed that he had filed a lawsuit in August 2025 against key figures in the ADC coalition, including former Senate President David Mark and ex-Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, due to leadership irregularities. He criticized the party's current state, claiming it lacks a validly elected national chairman and secretary, which has led him to seek an alternative political platform.

Despite being expelled from the ADC, Abejide clarified that he voluntarily withdrew his membership. He also addressed a viral video involving Femi Gbajabiamila, stating that his comments were misinterpreted.

Abejide reaffirmed his commitment to pursuing a stable political structure capable of delivering democratic dividends.
