Abiodun Advocates APC Consensus for 2027 Elections

During a strategic meeting held in Abeokuta, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) to respect local government zoning arrangements and embrace a consensus approach in preparation for the 2027 gubernatorial elections. He pledged to refund the nomination fees of aspirants who fail to secure the party's ticket, assuring them of future opportunities within the party.

Abiodun emphasized the need for party members to prioritize unity, dialogue, and compromise rather than engaging in divisive contests. He warned that contentious primaries could lead to financial strain and weaken the party's electoral chances.

The governor also noted that grassroots leaders are best positioned to assess and recommend suitable candidates. He encouraged aspirants to remain patient and committed, referencing his own political journey since 1993.

The meeting included several party elders who commended Abiodun's initiative as a pragmatic approach to managing internal competition and rewarding loyalty.
