Abiodun Advocates APC Consensus for 2027 Elections

On Tuesday, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State called on aspirants within the All Progressives Congress (APC) to respect local government zoning arrangements and embrace consensus-building in preparation for the 2027 general elections. He promised to refund the nomination fees for aspirants who fail to secure the party's ticket, emphasizing the importance of unity and dialogue over divisive contests.

Abiodun, speaking during a strategic meeting in Abeokuta, urged party members to prioritize the party's interests and work collaboratively. He noted that decisions would be made in consultation with local stakeholders and warned that contentious primaries could lead to financial strain and weaken the party's electoral prospects.

Abiodun also disclosed that several aspirants had already stepped down to align with party decisions, aiming to retain experienced members and discourage anti-party activities. He encouraged aspirants to remain patient and committed to the party's goals.
