Accord Party Denies Endorsement of Tinubu for 2027

Dele Oladeji, the Lagos State Chairman of Accord Party and Secretary of the Forum of Accord Party Chairmen in Southern Nigeria, dismissed claims that the party endorsed President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid for 2027. He stated that such claims are false and contrary to the party's official position.

Oladeji made these remarks during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in response to Christopher Imumolen, a factional Accord presidential candidate, who claimed the party was backing Tinubu. Oladeji clarified that no National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting had discussed or approved any endorsement of Tinubu.

He asserted that Accord has not deliberated on supporting Tinubu and described Imumolen's statements as personal opinions aimed at gaining media attention. Oladeji also questioned Imumolen's membership status, claiming his name was absent from the current membership register.

He reaffirmed that Accord is committed to contesting the 2027 general elections across all levels of government and will field candidates nationwide.
