ADC Sets N100m Fee for 2027 Presidential Nomination

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced that the fee for its presidential nomination form for the 2027 general elections will be N100 million. This decision was made public on Sunday, with a comprehensive timetable for the primary elections.

The sale of nomination forms will commence on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, and will end on May 10, 2026. Completed forms must be submitted between May 11 and May 13, 2026.

Screening of aspirants is scheduled for May 14 and 15, with results to be published on May 17. An appeal period for the screening exercise is set for May 18 and 19, and the final list of cleared aspirants will be released on May 20.

The primary elections will begin on May 21, with contests for state houses of assembly, house of representatives, and senate seats taking place simultaneously at the ward level. The presidential primary is scheduled for May 25, culminating in a meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) on May 26, followed by a special national convention on May 27.

The ADC aims to encourage broader participation by introducing a fee regime that offers a 50% discount for youth aspirants and a 25% reduction for women and persons with disabilities.
