ADC Revises Primary Election Dates for 2027 Elections

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) announced a revision of its primary election schedule for the 2027 general elections, citing logistical considerations and requests from aspirants. The new timeline includes the submission of nomination forms now due on May 14, 2026, a shift from the previously scheduled date of May 13, 2026.

Screening of aspirants will occur on May 16-17, 2026, instead of the initially planned May 14-15, 2026. The public screening results will be available on May 17, 2026, with an appeal period against screening decisions set for May 18-19, 2026.

The final list of candidates will be published on May 20, 2026. Additionally, the ADC has outlined the appeal schedule for legislative elections on May 22, governorship elections on May 23, and presidential elections on May 26, 2026.

The notice was jointly signed by Chinedu Idigo, National Organizing Secretary, and Bolaji Abdullahi, National Public Secretary. The party also clarified nomination fees and concessions for women and persons with disabilities.
