ADC Critiques APC's Focus Amid Zamfara Insecurity

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Zamfara State has expressed concern regarding the priorities of the All Progressives Congress (APC) amid escalating insecurity in the region. This reaction came after a 7-kilometre solidarity walk organized by the APC in Gusau on Wednesday, celebrating the appointment of former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdul’aziz Yari Abubakar, as the Director-General of the party's Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 election.

In a statement released on Thursday by ADC Chairman, Hon. Kabiru Garba, the party criticized the timing of the celebration, highlighting the ongoing issues of banditry, killings, kidnappings, and displacement affecting residents. The ADC urged the APC to have used the event to raise awareness about the plight of insecurity victims instead of focusing on political appointments.

The party called for an explanation of the Federal Government's measures to combat insecurity in Zamfara and emphasized that political leadership should prioritize citizen welfare over political ambitions.
