ADC Reviews Benue Guber Primary, Withholds Hembe's Certificate

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is currently reviewing the results of the Benue gubernatorial primary election, which has led to the withholding of Herman Hembe's Certificate of Return. This decision follows a petition from aspirants demanding a fresh primary due to alleged flaws in the election process that do not reflect the wishes of party members.

Joseph Waya and Peter Adejoh, both gubernatorial aspirants, have expressed concerns regarding the conduct of the primary and have called for a thorough review to ensure transparency and fairness within the party. Waya criticized the establishment of a committee to select a running mate for Hembe before the review process was concluded, labeling it as premature.

Adejoh commended the party leadership for the review, emphasizing the importance of addressing grievances to maintain unity and strengthen internal democracy within the ADC. The party has yet to finalize its gubernatorial candidate as the review process continues.
