ADC to Review Atiku Abubakar's Primary Election Victory

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) plans to review grievances related to Atiku Abubakar's victory in the presidential primary, where he won with approximately 1.8 million votes. Lawal Batagarawa, a member of the ADC presidential primary committee, disclosed this during an interview on Arise TV.

The decision follows formal rejections of the election results by former Minister of Transport Rotimi Amaechi, who received 540,117 votes, and businessman Moham Hayatu Deen, who garnered 177,120 votes. Both candidates alleged voter disenfranchisement and widespread irregularities during the primary exercise.

Batagarawa emphasized that the ADC would treat these grievances seriously and ensure a thorough review process to maintain party integrity ahead of the 2027 general elections. He also mentioned that Atiku Abubakar's post-victory remarks were aimed at energizing support for his campaign against President Bola Tinubu.
