Umar Salah Joins APC, Citing Development Under Aliyu

Alhaji Umar Salah, the former Director General of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto, defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). His defection was officially announced on a Saturday when he was received by Alhaji Umaru Nagwari Tambuwal, the Chairman of the Sokoto State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), and Prof. Ahmed Ladan Ala, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education.

Salah's decision to leave the ADC followed a meeting with Governor Ahmed Aliyu at the Government House in Sokoto, where he expressed that the developmental projects and programs initiated by the Aliyu administration motivated his move. He praised the governor's efforts in improving the quality of life for citizens and pledged his support, along with that of his followers, for the APC in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Nagwari Tambuwal welcomed Salah to the APC, assuring him of equal treatment within the party and commended Governor Aliyu for his administration's performance in executing development projects across Sokoto State.
