Atiku Abubakar Denounces Obasanjo's Allegations as Lies

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria and current Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, has publicly condemned former President Olusegun Obasanjo's recent comments about him as political manipulation and lies. This renewed conflict began on July 23, 2026, when Obasanjo accused Atiku of mobilizing the late Ghali Umar Na’Abba to impeach him during their time in office from 1999 to 2007.

Atiku dismissed these allegations, suggesting that Obasanjo has a pattern of using election cycles to attack his character. In a press statement released in Abuja, Atiku questioned why Obasanjo would make claims involving a deceased individual and referenced statements from Abubakar Bawa Bwari, who countered Obasanjo's claims.

Additionally, Orji Uzor Kalu shared a video from 2003, asserting that it was Atiku who sought support for Obasanjo, not the other way around. Kalu emphasized that Atiku acted loyally towards Obasanjo, contradicting the narrative that he sought to undermine him.
