Atiku Abubakar Rejects Obasanjo's Bribery Allegations

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria and Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has criticized former President Olusegun Obasanjo's allegations that he bribed the late Rt. Hon.

Ghali Umar Na’Abba to facilitate Obasanjo's impeachment. Atiku, through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, described the accusations as a desperate attempt by Obasanjo to gain political advantage ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

He argued that the allegations are reckless and unfair to Na’Abba, who cannot defend himself. Atiku questioned why Obasanjo did not raise these claims while Na’Abba was alive and noted the absence of any judicial findings supporting the allegations.

He suggested that the timing of these accusations is politically motivated, aimed at tarnishing his reputation and benefiting Obasanjo's preferred candidate. Atiku also referenced his opposition to Obasanjo's third-term agenda, asserting that his commitment to democratic principles has led to ongoing hostility from the former President.
