APC Endorses Governor Dauda Lawal for 2027 Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially cleared Governor Dauda Lawal for a second term in the upcoming 2027 governorship election in Zamfara State. This decision was made during a screening committee meeting held in Abuja on April 25, 2026.

The committee, led by Professor Nentaw Yilwatda, received a nomination form from Governor Lawal, expressing his interest in re-election. Additionally, a high-level stakeholders' meeting took place at the government house in Gusau, Zamfara State, where prominent party leaders, including four former governors—Ahmad Yarima, Mahmud Shinkafi, Abdulaziz Yari, and Bello Matawalle—endorsed both Governor Lawal and President Bola Tinubu for a second term ahead of the 2027 elections.

The meeting also included representatives from various groups, including youth and women, emphasizing broad support for the governor's candidacy.
