APC Elders Reject Governorship Seat Shift to Kwara South

The elders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara have firmly rejected the idea of ceding the governorship seat to Kwara South. They argue that such a move would negatively impact the party's fortunes in the upcoming elections.

This position was articulated during an extraordinary meeting held in Ilorin on Monday, where the elders from Kwara Central and Kwara North expressed their concerns. They highlighted that Kwara South has already benefited significantly from federal appointments under the current administration, which they view as an injustice to the other zones.

The communiqué from the meeting was signed by the chairman, Alhaji Mustapha Kobe, and coordinated by Alhaji Razaq Lawal, with Alhaji Gani Alawo as the secretary. The elders emphasized the importance of retaining the bulk vote from Kwara Central and Kwara North to ensure APC's continued success in the 2027 elections, while also acknowledging the performance of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
