APC Governors Pledge Support for Tinubu's 2027 Bid

On 15 September 2026, the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), chaired by Hope Uzodimma, the governor of Imo State, announced its unanimous support for President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid and all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the upcoming 2027 elections. The declaration was made during a meeting of APC governors in Abuja.

Uzodimma stated that the forum resolved not to participate in or endorse any political alliances that could weaken the APC or undermine Tinubu's re-election. He emphasized that the governors' campaign efforts would be exclusively dedicated to APC candidates, rejecting any arrangements that could create confusion or divided loyalty within the party.

Furthermore, Uzodimma mentioned that the APC would implement an integrated and locally responsive campaign structure aligned with Tinubu's expectations and strategic objectives. This declaration comes amid concerns regarding the National Rainbow Coalition led by Nyesom Wike, which, despite being associated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), claims to support Tinubu's re-election.
