NDC Accuses APC of Undermining Nigeria's Democracy

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of undermining Nigeria's democracy. Osa Director, the National Publicity Secretary of the NDC, made this statement during an interview on Symfoni TV on Saturday, focusing on the upcoming 2027 general elections.

He referenced a book by political science scholars from Harvard University titled "Why Democracies Die," which posits that the greatest threats to democracy come from those in power who subvert democratic processes. Director criticized the APC government, which has been in power since 2015, for showing a lack of respect for the judiciary and freedom of the press, and for treating political opponents as adversaries to be crushed.

This statement reflects the NDC's concerns regarding the current political climate in Nigeria as the nation approaches the next general elections.
