APC Risks Losing Kwara in 2027 Without Action

A group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a warning regarding the potential loss of Kwara State in the upcoming 2027 general elections if allegations of exclusion against Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq are not addressed. The statement, led by APC chieftain Abdul Ganiyu Alani, highlights concerns over the governor's alleged suppression of dissenting voices and marginalization of loyal party members.

The group accuses the administration of undermining internal democracy by making unilateral decisions without adequate consultation with stakeholders. Specific instances cited include last-minute alterations to party executive lists and a lack of transparency in governance.

The group also raised alarms about the security situation in the state, attributing it to the governor's complacency. They expressed concerns over the manipulation of APC's registration process, favoring the Kwara Central senatorial district.

The group warns that imposing an unpopular candidate, such as Speaker Yakubu Danladi Salihu, could trigger mass defections and voter apathy. They recommend an urgent meeting with critical stakeholders to address the crisis.
