APC Clears Gombe Governor Yahaya for Senate Candidacy

The All Progressives Congress (APC) screening committee has officially cleared Governor Muhammadu Yahaya of Gombe State to contest for the Gombe North senatorial seat in the forthcoming elections. The screening exercise occurred at the Plateau House in Abuja, led by the committee chair, Professor Nentaw Yilwatda.

In a press statement issued by Ismaila Misilli, the Director General of Press Affairs in the Gombe State Government House, it was noted that the exercise featured Yahaya seeking re-election while also contesting for the senatorial position on the APC platform. Professor Yilwatda commended Yahaya for his service and contributions to the state and the party, expressing confidence in his leadership credentials.

The committee acknowledged that Yahaya had previously undergone a similar screening process and fulfilled the necessary constitutional requirements to contest, leading to his clearance without the need for further rigorous scrutiny.
