Ashiru Declares for Kwara Governorship Race in 2027

Ashiru, the Deputy Majority Leader of the Senate, officially declared his intent to contest in the 2027 governorship elections for Kwara State on Thursday. He made this announcement in Ilorin while seeking the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

His entry into the race adds to the growing list of aspirants within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections. Ashiru previously served as a senator representing Kwara North and has been actively building his political presence within the APC in the state.

During his declaration, he unveiled a policy document titled "Coven Kwara," which outlines a roadmap for his governance approach. The document represents his plans anchored on seven key pillars aimed at addressing critical sectors of the state's development.
