Ibiwoy Joins 2027 Kwara Governorship Race Under PDP

Olasheni Ibiwoy has officially entered the 2027 Kwara State governorship race as a candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP), marking his declaration as the fourth aspirant. He submitted a letter of intent to the party's legal adviser, Monsurat Omotoso, during a visit to the PDP state secretariat in Ilorin on Saturday.

Ibiwoy's campaign is driven by a strong desire to ensure sustainable development in Kwara State, emphasizing five key pillars: security, peace, human capital development, equitable development, and economic transformation. He highlighted the current insecurity in the state and proposed a community-first security architecture that integrates traditional institutions and modern intelligence.

Ibiwoy also pledged to enhance youth development, create jobs, and revamp public education. His vision includes establishing a Kwara Rural Development Commission and transforming the state into an agricultural powerhouse.

PDP officials, including deputy state chairperson Wasilat Atinuk McCarthy, expressed their support, noting that Ibiwoy's entry strengthens the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
