Ashiru Joins Kwara Governorship Race with 7-Pillar Agenda

Ashiru, the Deputy Senate Majority Leader, has officially declared his intention to run for the governorship of Kwara State in the 2027 elections under the platform of the Progressive Congress (APC). He represents Kwara South in the Senate and unveiled a comprehensive 7-pillar agenda aimed at addressing key issues in the state.

His agenda emphasizes security, infrastructure development, and governance reform, asserting that Kwara's time for progress is now. Ashiru criticized the current administration led by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, highlighting the need for genuine change and fiscal discipline.

He pointed out the ongoing security challenges in the state, including threats from armed groups and the impact on agricultural activities. Ashiru's campaign is framed within the context of President Bola Tinubu's "Renewed Hope" agenda, aiming to transform governance in Kwara State from 2027 to 2031.

He believes that the quality of life for residents, including access to education and healthcare, should be the priority of the next administration.
