APC Addresses Aspirants' Concerns Ahead of 2027 Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is taking steps to address the concerns of aspirants whose names were replaced in the candidacy list for the upcoming 2027 elections. Malam Bala Ibrahim, the party's Director of Publicity, confirmed that the party has begun submitting names of its candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The APC screened approximately 2,500 aspirants for various offices. Ibrahim stated that the issuance of certificates to successful candidates is standard practice and that the replacement of candidates is not unusual.

To address grievances, the APC is establishing a reconciliation committee to engage with aspirants whose names were replaced, aiming to foster understanding and calm within the party. Ibrahim expressed optimism that those dissatisfied with the outcomes would continue to contribute to the party's success.

Political analysts warn that such replacements can lead to challenges, including increased litigation and potential defections to rival parties, which could affect the APC's election campaign.
